Mechanism

Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that acts on receptors to decrease calorie intake and reduce body weight by delaying gastric emptying and increasing satiety.

Chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI >=30 kg/m2) or overweight (BMI >=27 kg/m2) with at least one weight-related comorbidity.
