Mechanism

Rimegepant is a small-molecule calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist that competes with CGRP for receptor binding, inhibiting CGRP-induced vasodilation and neurogenic inflammation.

Approved Indication

Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura, and preventive treatment of episodic migraine in adults.

Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) is an orally disintegrating tablet that serves a dual role for both acute migraine relief and migraine prevention in adults. Taken orally, it dissolves on the tongue without water to quickly block CGRP pain signaling. Following approvals by the FDA, EMA, and China NMPA, it is clinically available in the Hainan Boao Lecheng pilot zone.
