Binds irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and causing cell membrane disruption and cell death.

Management of cystic fibrosis patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

TOBI (tobramycin inhalation solution) is an inhaled aminoglycoside antibiotic approved by the FDA. It is delivered directly to the lungs via nebulizer to treat Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections in cystic fibrosis patients, improving pulmonary function.
